I might not be the best person to come up with the title, nor the best person to give this kind of advice on how to be a good product manager, anyhow I'll just want to share what I feel, what I learn, and what I do in daily basis.

So here's what.

Being a product manager somehow is the right choice for me. I am a kind of person who sees things generally, in the big picture, love to hear every sides of anything, enthusiastic about new stuffs, and definitely that kind of "master of none, jack of all trades".

Being a product manager requires me to deal with technical development, quality assurances, UI/UX design, and business strategy, which includes a lot of things from sales to marketing, from business intelligence to content management.

Being a product manager makes me meet a lot of people. Correction, makes me work with various kind of people. It also amazes me how people can get so smart and expert in their field and deeply connected with what they do, so passionate with what they’re good at. I’m surrounded by masters, the developers, devOps, QAs, designers, business intelligence, business development, etc.

Being a product manager, I am surrounded by these passionate people I get to absorb different knowledge from different field. It surely makes me richer.

Being a product manager, I don't really have the same things to do everyday. Today I have meeting with business team. The next day I review the design. Then I work with QAs to check the test case. Etcetera etcetera. It will never be boring. There's always something new to do.

Being a product manager, I have to prioritize and always re-prioritize. This feature might be top priority for now but next week there might be one big urgent bug.

Being a product manager, I have to be neat and tidy. I have to organize everything and that's what I'm enjoy doing, but the thing is, I happen to be forgetful too 😅

Being a product manager, I have to remember to report a requested feature once it's done, or the fixed bugs once it's been fixed, or anything. This is probably my biggest weakness. I forget things a little bit too often 😅

Being a product manager, I have to increase my capability in switching tasks. Not multitasking, but the ability to switch task quickly and not getting confused or unfocused.

Being a product manager makes me better at estimating. Estimating time needed, estimating how many human resources required, estimating the value of a feature, etcetera.

Being a product manager makes me interested in user experience more than before, for what I'm doing aims to solve a problem.

Being a product manager, is my best decision ever.

PS: After all, this is just the view from a junior. Please advise as necessary 😄
